Google Chrome
vs
Microsoft Edge

Which do I prefer? the short answer is Microsoft Edge.

Why? Its because it runs faster than chrome, has all the extensions I need (and more) and is less hungery for RAM. Originally I was going to stay on Google Chrome because I was just used to it and didn't care to switch but after getting constant pop ups and ads telling me I should go to Edge, i decided to give it a try and after doing some customizing and tweaking settings, I have no reason to go back to Chrome.

Now both browsers have a lot of similarities when it comes to settings and the basic look but both have a variety of differences that make them unique to use, especially for power users

Google Chrome

Release Date: 2008

Google Chrome has been around for a while now and has been the default internet browser for nearly everyone who doesn't use Firefox and will probably stay at the top until Microsoft Edge is forced to replace Chrome. Although Chrome has a lot of advantages like extensions and apps, there are some disatvantages such as the RAM consumption. I recommend Google Chrome for anyone who just needs an internet browser for basic everyday tasks.

Key Features:

  • Part of a family of services

  • Synchronization across devices

  • Reading list

  • Extensions

  • Themes, including dark mode

  • Password manager

  • Task manager for websites

  • Chromebook

  • Translator

Microsoft Edge

Release Date 2015

Microsoft Edge was release along side Windows 10 and the Xbox One in 2015 designed to replace the famously slow Internet Explorer, I guess you could say it was also desiged to replace Google Chrome with how much it gets advertised and recommended. Edge is packed with loads of features that rival that of most other browsers but falls short in the extensions department compared to Chrome.

What Microsoft Edge lacks in extensions, it makes up for in features, features like grouping tabs and a built-in assistant (Others to the right panel) make using the internet so much better and efficient.

I highly recommend Microsoft Edge to anyone that needs more when it comes to using the internet
