For this post, I figured I would do a total update instead of a single "what I completed this weekend" update. So, since I started working on RISE back in January of 2024, I have completed the following modules:
Introduction
When launched, RISE will greet me with weather, time, date, emails, and more
Scheduling
I can schedule tasks that get logged into my calendar
When prompted, RISE will display my inbox and inform me how many emails are read/unread
Empty recycling bin
RISE will clear out my computer recycling bin
Keyboard shortcuts
I have added every Windows shortcut key to be voice activated
Translator
RISE can translate languages to and from English, still needs major work
Open/search websites and Programs
Simple "Open/search 'query' " to launch programs and websites
Internet Speed Test
RISE will run a speed test using speedtest.net and display the results
Screenshot
RISE will take a screenshot, still need to add the saving to custom spots and names
Control Camera
I can open/close the camera and use its functions with my voice
Calculator
I can verbally run any calculation, still working on the graphing calculator portion
News and Forecast
RISE will fetch me the latest news and weather updates
Reminders
This is used for more tasks than scheduled events
System Power options
I can restart, shutdown, lock, and put my PC into hibernation through RISE
Google Maps
I can search for destinations and get directions through RISE, still working on voice control for all map functions
I will keep the planned modules private for now and will release an update post as they are coded and completed.
That's it for this update, be sure to subscribe to the newsletter so you get alerted when a new post drops and stay up to date on all things David's Tech Repair and RISE
